The following information answers questions about pricing, shipping and how to handle unframed artwork. If you don't find the answer to your question here, feel free to contact me.
All of my paintings are original pieces. I sign each painting in the bottom right or bottom left hand corner of the piece.
My prices are determined by the size and complexity of the painting and prices range from $1,250 up to $6,500 for the largest and most complex pieces.
Framed artwork is professionally framed using museum quality products including TruVue AR (Anti-Reflective) Reflection Free® UV glass and acid free mat and backboard.
I use three different frames for my framed artwork. Depending on the piece, I use a contemporary black frame, a contemporary solid wood maple frame or a traditional gold frame.
Gallery-wrapped artwork is painted on professional grade gallery-wrapped canvas (1½ inches deep). Framing is not required.
I also paint smaller unframed pieces (cellophane-wrapped and complete with mat and backboard) which will require glass and a frame.
My acrylic mixed media abstracts are either painted on canvas or board.
My pastel paintings can also be purchased unframed so that you may choose your own frame to suit your specific requirements.
For shipping, a pastel painting can be stored in a thin, flat lightweight fome-cor® protective box, which I am able to provide for $50.
I choose not to spray my work with fixative as I find it dulls the vibrancy of the colors; it is therefore very important that the painting is protected behind glass and that your framer of choice is familiar with pastel framing techniques to avoid any damage.
When making arrangements for your painting to be framed, I highly recommend that you use reputable framers who have experience in framing original pastel artwork.
Strips of fome-cor® (or other museum quality buffer material) are used to raise the mat approximately one eighth of an inch from the surface of the painting so that the mat does not come directly into contact with the pastel surface. Again, a reputable framer will be familiar with this procedure.
I recommend using museum quality acid-free mats and acid-free fome-cor® backing and buffers. The width of the mat varies according to the size of the painting and a reputable framer will be able to advise on suitable proportions for the mat and the frame.
I highly recommend UV glass with some level of UV protection to protect the painting from damage from sunlight. I use TruVue AR (Anti-Reflective) Reflection Free® glass on all of my framed artwork.
I ship exclusively via UPS, which provides professional packing, tracking and insurance.
Currently, I only ship to addresses within the United States.
If you would like to purchase a painting for a relative or friend as a gift, but you are not certain which piece to buy, I would be delighted to provide a gift card - whatever the occasion!
My gift cards are printed on high quality Southworth® 65lb linen cover stock paper.
